- Things to definitely bring:
- Water
- Snacks
- Footwear that can handle small amounts of mud
- Bug spray. Our field is prone to chiggers.
- Sun Screen
- Any hobby-grade blasters you have. Toy-grade blasters are not as worth bringing, unless you can run fast.
- Any eye protection you might have
- Things many people find useful to bring:
- Sunglasses/hat
- Lawn chair, picnic blanket, and/or folding table if you have it. There will not be space to put your gear other than on the ground.
- Any sort of tactical gear: chest rigs, holsters, bandoliers, dump pouches, etc.
- Fingerless gloves and kneepads
- First aid kit for minor scrapes
- Things you can borrow:
- Eye protection
- Darts
- Blasters/magazines (limited supply available, first come first served)
- Things to expect:
- We will be outside for 4-5 hours.
- There is a bathroom a short walk away, which is often locked in the colder months.
- The playing area is down a relatively steep hill from the parking area.
- Teams will be randomly assigned before the first round, and will stay mostly the same throughout the meet.
- There will be a general rules briefing before the first game, and a specific briefing before each game.
- We’ll get in 3-4 rounds of play between chatting and reloading.
- There will usually be a group picture taken before the first or second round.
- The end of the meet will include a mandatory-participation dart cleanup.
- There is often a group lunch afterwards at a nearby restaurant.
